European Elections: This is how the European Parliament

Spaniards are called to vote, along with the rest of the EU citizens, in the European elections. In these elections, held every 5 years, the citizens of the member countries will choose the 751 MEPs who will make up the new European Parliament. But if these elections are characterized by something, it is by their general low participation, which is around 43%. With an average participation that is around 43% and  that decreases at a general level year after year , everything seems to indicate that the majority of Europeans have little interest in voting to elect the SW Business Directory representatives of their institutions. In the European elections, the MEPs who will make up the European Parliament are chosen,  and although it is not very popular, this body has more significant powers than we might think. The European Parliament  is one of the three institutions that - together with the European Commission and the European Council - must agree to approve a law at the European level.



It is made up of 751 MEPs, elected every five years by EU citizens and has the power to modify, approve and reject legislation, together with the Council.
